FAQs

What is the process of beginning therapy with you?

If you are interested in starting therapy together please be in touch via phone or email. I will gladly answer any questions you might have, and we will schedule an assessment session. The first session or two are an opportunity for you to check if I feel like the right fit for you, and for me to check I feel like I can match your needs. Before the assessment session I will send you a link to fill out some paperwork on my secure client portal.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning if you cancel your session within the 24 hours prior to it, you will still be responsible for the fees.

What is the length of sessions?

Typical sessions run for 50 minutes unless we make other provisions.

Are you an in-network insurance provider?

I am not in-network with any insurance provider. Instead, I am an out-of-network provider for all insurances. If you have out-of-network benefits you will be responsible to pay for your sessions and after you submit a superbill provided by me, your insurance will reimburse a part of that fee (what percentage depends on your insurance and plan).

What are your fees?

Engaging in psychotherapy requires commitment of time, money and energy. I am happy to discuss fees on the phone/email and reserve limited spots on my schedule for sliding scale clients. I know how difficult it is to find a therapist and how expensive the process can be. In order to make it easier I offer a free phone consultation.

How can I know if I have out-of-network benefits?

Call the phone number at the back of your card and ask to speak to someone about your benefits. Questions to ask are: do I have out-of-network coverage? Do I have a deductible? If so, how high is my deductible? You should also ask about what the process is for submitting superbills to get reimbursed. I would be happy to help guide you through this process.

Are you currently seeing people in person?

Since COVID began being a threat I have moved my practice completely on-line. I do have a physical office and hope to be seeing clients in person again soon, depeneding on health recommendations.
